Soil or "Topsoil" comes in many different structures...
Manufactured soils are designed to improve the grow media by introducing the elements lacking in basic soil.
All of our soils meet BC Nursery and Landscape Association (BCNLA) standards. Regular soil testing is conducted, and analysis reports are available upon request.

What's in YOUR soil?DIRT:
A basic growing medium that offers minimal nutrition or organic matter and drains poorly. While it does contain some beneficial microorganisms, it lacks the components needed to support healthy plant growth. SANDY LOAM: Sandy loam provides better drainage than plain dirt but still falls short in delivering the nutrients and organic material plants need to thrive. CLASS "A" COMPOST (Organics): Over the past decade, local governments have implemented organics collection programs to reduce landfill waste. While well-intentioned, these programs come with serious challenges. Controlling what ends up in the compost stream has proven difficult. Under federal guidelines, materials such as household garbage and even sewer sludge are permitted in residential and commercial landscaping compost. Testing this so-called “composted waste” often reveals contamination—including plastics, metal fragments, glass, sharps, and heavy metals—measured only by Parts Per Million (PPM) standards. Additionally, sewer sludge compost may contain a mix of chemicals, paints, soaps, cleaners, and personal care products that do not fully break down. These non-compostable contaminants are still present in Class A compost, which is why it's federally regulated. Ask yourself - would you be comfortable with your family working in soil like this, or your children and loved ones playing near it? |
What's in OURS?Our Soil: Four Simple Ingredients. Full Quality Control.
We carefully select just four core ingredients for our soil—each one traceable, locally sourced, and easy to quality-check. The result? A high-performance grow medium you can trust. MUSHROOM COMPOST ("Organics") The heart of our nutrients and organics comes from premium mushroom compost, delivered directly to our production site. This compost is steamed and pasteurized right in the mushroom barns as part of the organic growing process. Every batch is treated to eliminate pathogens and ensure quality. After producing certified organic mushrooms, farmers are left with nutrient-rich compost—an ideal organic base for soil. It’s clean, effective, and packed with the goodness your plants need. VIRGIN WOOD FIBRE We use only virgin wood fibre—not recycled or reground wood, which can contain unknown contaminants. Our wood shavings and sawdust come from a local mill that specializes in deciduous (hardwood) and coniferous (softwood) trees. This fibre helps balance the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, creating a stable and nourishing environment for plant roots. RIVER SAND Our sand is locally sourced from the Fraser River—a byproduct of river dredging done to maintain safe navigation routes. Known as "Round Sand," these particles have journeyed from the Rocky Mountains, naturally smoothed over time by water flow. Unlike jagged gravel pit sand (which compacts and drains poorly), round sand keeps the soil loose, well-draining, and easy to work with all season long. BASIC SOIL We include a small amount of natural soil for structure and biology. It helps bind the mix together and introduces beneficial microbes, which are essential for breaking down organic matter and supporting healthy root systems. |

We believe in transparency, quality, and soil that performs. Whether you're planting a garden, building a landscape, or growing for a living - you deserve to know what’s in your soil.

High Traffic Turf
High Traffic Turf is recommended for landscaping areas for high use (e.g., playgrounds ,backyards, etc.)
Also used where drainage is poor (in wet conditions root rot in grass and may cause turf to die if drainage is inadequate)
